A 4x4 doesn't necessarily take up anymore space than a saloon or estate..but it is taller.

Likewise fuel efficiency can be just as much a problem for saloons, and sports cars...but then they aren't as tall so seem to get ignored.

Large people carriers seem to get ignored too even though its very rare to see one loaded to the brim with passengers.

Only asking, because I am waiting for us 4x4 drivers to get blamed for the earthquake in Folkestone, but remember the next time there is a catastrophe somewhere in the third world it will only be 4x4's that will get the aid and relief through!

No ones arguing with that dutch25, thats what theyre meant for, not for taking the kids to school in. Besides, I doubt if you'll see BMW, Porche or most of the 4x4s on UK roads in the third world!

I've just bought a 4x4 because I live in the country and actually need it go about my business. I can't get a red stag in the boot of a meganne.
I would rather they penalised reps as they are a right pain in the boot area.
The fuel efficeincy of the freelander i've bpought is better than the meganne, so i'm saving the planet and trees cos the stag's eat them.
How green am I?

the 4*4 that lives next door to me is a damn site wider and taller than my saloon it does not give me any grief ,but why they have it is beyond me its only outing is asda on saturday they go to work in an old van all week.
