new statutory maternity pay

Hi, my girlfriend had her baby on the 2nd of april. but started her maternity leave in march.

Does anybody know if she is entitled to the new 39 weeks or does she still fall in the bracket of 26 weeks.

i think it goes by the date the baby was due rather than date of birth. She should have had all the relevent forms from her midwife i think.

for women whos baby is due on or after April 2007. So if she was due in march she has missed out, even if baby wasnt born until April.
