I am seriously thinking of buying The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (it sounds very cool and amazing)and wanted to know if there are any controversial subjects in it. like (speacially) anyting about the muslims being the bad guys or ANYTHING bad about the muslims as i am not allowed to read books like those

At one point there is some criticism of the way the Islamic forces overtook Istanbul and the use of torture in the Ottoman Empire but it is not meant to present Muslims/|Ottomans in a bad light, it is really a statement of fact (like the Tower of London and other royal palaces the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul does have it's fair share of stories about execution , torture etc..). That, I think, is the only bit which might be difficult.
On the other hand one of the 'heroes' in the book is a muslim Professor from Istanbul.
I do hope you get to read the book, it's really good and very exciting!
