Can I paint my (originally white, now grey) garden furniture? It is a lovely set of table and chairs but needs something to brighten it up. If paint is available for plastic, what colours does it come in?

What can I paint my plastic garden furniture with?

As garden furniture is made of a very smooth plastic and it is flexible we do not recommend painting it.

As answered by Dulux.co.uk

I wanted to do the same thing! Having looked in Focus at paints I would suggest its probably cheaper to buy new chairs!! Sorry!!
emx is right. Though you'd get away with painting the table anyone sitting on the chairs would cause the plastic to stretch so the paint would crack. The only other solution is putting covers over them.
A few years ago I painted my white plastic garden furniture because i couldn't afford to replace them at the time. I first rubbed the plastic with a very fine sandpaper to get the paint to key, I then used ordinary white undercoat and gloss. They looked great and the paint stayed good for several years until I passed the furniture on to someone else.
Paul55 is correct but I would suggest forget the undercoat.

When I was in charge of painting Council Houses we were told by the rep from Blundell-Permoglaze you get better adhesion without it.

Good Luck
