I've never called in sick before to my job, but tomorrow I have to

But I have to tomorrow, because I seriously feel terrible.
The problem is, the owner of the restaurant I work at is, well to put it bluntly, an *******.
I vomited at work today and they still made me stay, even though two days beforehand another girl had the sniffles and they let her out early.
(I wait tables.)
I have not called in once since I've worked there, I've done them plenty of favors by coming in when other people have called out.

After this the owner kept going "you're not going to call out tomorrow are you?" about four or five times. He treats everyone that works there like they're nothing, he has horrible manners and I'm thinking about leaving. Still, he tries to guilt trip us and he's screamed at me before about trivial things.
It's hard not to be intimidated. I just don't know what to say if I try to call in tomorrow, because he makes it hard to say no, because he's so angry and pushy about things.
How do I say "No, I'm sick!" without intimidation?

I would not want an ill person waiting on my table! How off-putting.

Just phone in and say you can't possibly work as you have vomiting and diarrhoea - be firm but polite and say you will return to work when you are fit enough but don't know when that will be.

Health and Safetly guidelines say you really shouldn't be working with food if you have any sort of diarhea.

Don't let yourself by intimidated by your employer, he has no right to treat you like this. The other replies are correct, you should not be working in a food environment when you have sickness or diarrhoea in case of contamination. I own a fast food business and it is very difficult when staff go sick as it is impossible to find cover, you can lose business when customers are not prepared to wait to be served. However I respect my staff and would never scream at them or try to force them to work when they are ill. Remember your employer needs you, probably more than you need them or they would not be trying to get you in when you are ill! You are in a stronger position than you realise, I have no doubt that your employer knows that!
Take the day off if you need to, best of luck.

I used to work in a restaurant and it is against health and safety to work around food if you have sickness & diarreah. if he makes you go into work just puke all over his food, only joking!!

Seriously he is breaching rules and regulations.
