Radio Code Renault Clio

I have a V reg Renault Clio of which i have the code for,but i cannot input any numbers.
The display on the dash has 0000 but it will not let me enter numbers and after a short while the display then shows CODE.
What am i doing wrong ??
Pleas help.

hi, please try leaving the the power on your radio for at least ten hours this should hopefully reset the radio so that you can enter the code. good luck

Sorry do you mean leave the power ON or OFF the radio because surley if i leave it on it will drain my battery.

ok ive got your information for you now , when your display shows CODE follow this:
using the remote hand control press the --+ button.
select the required first code digit using the rotary thumbwheel and again press the --+ button.
Follow this procedure until all four digits have been entered and the set will operate.

Bubblegum many thanks for your help the info you gave me was correct but it seems i have got the wrong code as after inputting the code i had the unit bleeped and when back to CODE.
So apart from being ripped of by a Renault Agent do you know where i can get my correct code.
I have all the info off the radio to supply to someone with me.
