slugs and snails
Hi to all budding garden friends I live in the UK and was looking at the recycling website here. In the composting part, one of the processes included slugs and snails in the compost bin. Can any one tell me if it is benifical to put all slugs and snails into the compost bin? can they really break the compost material down quicker or am I storing up problems by allowing them to recreate in the bin and then get into the garden?? I'm still puzzled to know why slugs are on this earth, all they seem to do is eat precious plants. There must be some reason why birds in my area don't seem to eat them either ?I need a hedgehog!!
