The conviction of the fertiliser bombers in London, it is now revealled MI5 had some of the London bombers under surveillance as long ago as 2003.

The extent of MI5's failure to stop the July 7 bombers can be revealed for the first time after an al-Qa'eda gang associated with them was found guilty of plotting to blow up a nightclub and shopping centre with a home-made fertiliser bomb.

We've probably had 10000 people under surveillance at one time or another in the last few years. Doesn't mean we can account for their every move for the rest of their natural lives.

they should be charged with treason and hung if that isnt the law now it should be reinstated asap and then carried out the next time the b***ards try to kill and maim innocent people.we are too soft in this country.they will languish in prison now costing us thousands of pounds year.if they want to meet allah so badly they wouldnt object to the noose would they?

According to last night's news, apparently these people weren't suicide bombers and had no intention of meeting Allah just yet. They were going to do the deed and then disappear abroad.

I suppose you can't keep track of everyone who meets everyone who meets everyone of the people you're originally following... but the security services have been swearing blind ever since the arrests that they'd never known of any of the four men found guilty; and it now turns out this was a barefaced lie. I think the MI5 people responsible should be hanged, drawn and quartered as a deterrent to future bungling intelligence men. And have their welfare benefits withdrawn, obviously.

It's a **** up that occured through lack of resources. In the NHS, doctors often have to choose which patient out of 10 very ill ones who will get treated first. I'd imagine it's the same with the Spooks.
