Where did they ever get the name wife beater for a mans under shirt? I had a friend say that maybe its because in movies whenever you see a man beating his wife he usually is wearing one. I don't think that is why. Any ideas?

yeah I'm 99% sure that's why!! They referred to one on the OC as a wife beater, it made me laugh!!
