Calla lily care

I bought a black gorgeous calla lily a few weeks ago which had about 5 flowers on it and was flourishing. I appreciate the flowers don't last forever and have now started drooping to the point where they actually fall off (the bottom of the stalks gets really flimsy and soggy) - is this normal and should I be cutting the stalks off when they start to do that? Please help - I don't want to destroy this plant!

They usually last about up to about six weeks but won't go on blooming forever.They need a rest . They like a cool temperature and don't like to standing in soggy compost ..so don't overwater them as this will rot the tuber .You can feed them while in bloom. When it's finished blooming reduce watering and let the leaves die back .Cut off the dried up leaves and store it in a shady spot .You can then repot the tuber in early spring and hopefully it will bloom again .

Thanks - I think I obviously did overwater then as the stalks / tubers just seemed to collapse - oh dear, I am lethal to plants - I spend a fortune and then kill them all! But I had read on the care instructions to keep them moist so I did - I only watered once a week, I guess I just have no idea how much water to put in. What feed is best for them? I have baby bio? And when I repot do I put in a bigger pot?

Yes Nicky ..you can use Baby Bio it's a good all round food for houseplants .I would repot it in a slightly larger pot .I hope it grows again for you . You can always chance your luck and plant in the garden too.
