One of the azaleas in my garden, was previously a lilac colour whenever it bloomed. This year however, the buds are definetely pink! I haven't changed the soil in the terracotta pot it's in,and haven't used any type of feed. Is it normal for the colour to change?
I've been using a lot of tap water on it lately, during the hot spell, but, then again I would have done that before. Possibly, our water has got "harder". Thanks for your reply!
Hi Linda ..I found this if it is any help..I can't link it for some reason but Gardeners Question Time says .....
" Azaleas can start out as a one colour, usually salmon pink. Then they sport to another, previous, variety because that particular branch with the new colour was propagated separately. It can happen a third and even a fourth time. It's also quite common in camellias. I think it's very attractive, you've got three plants for the price of one. "
