lipstick stains in carpet

Does anyone know how to get lipstick out of carpet. I must have stood in some somewhere and trodden it right the way throught the house, on a beige carpet!!

Just an ordinary carpet shampoo should do it, if not try a bit of Fairy washing up liquid.
