i have a 7month old jack russell dog .over the last two months i have let him off his lead but if i am any where near a road i will put him back on his leash.with no problems, he has been very well behaved obaying basic orders , but today he done a runner on me this is the first time ever i have some very bad roads around where i live so he worried me sick. he was not chasing any thing .shell i have his nuts done. or what ????

This means teaching him the recall, and also to drop on your command as this is often the only way to stop a dog in its tracks. Join a dog training club for help and advice on training.
Having his nuts off may stop him wandering after bitches, but will have no effect on him running away if you have not taught him not to.
