Late eighties android(?) film

Hi, Can anybody help me? I seem to remember going to see a film in the mid- to late-eighties with my mum - I would have been about 5 to ten years old. I'm guessing that my mum thought it was a kids' film, but I remember being totally confused by it. It seemed to be about a small group of people having to travel somewhere (I think it was a type of fantasy/adventure film) and I'm sure I remember them flying over a desert in a small plane at one point. I might be wrong, but one of them was an android, and went to android heaven, or something. It was a hotel-type place. I think the android didn't want to leave - or maybe he was dissapointed with 'android heaven' and he did want to leave. Like I said, it was a long time ago and I was young, so I only have confusing images in my head. Oh crumbs, that makes me sound mad... anyway, much obliged! thanks.

Er.....couldn't be "Return to Oz", the sequel to wizard of Oz could it.That has the Robot "Tic-Tock" in it, who flies over the "deadly desert" on a flying "Gump"(half sofa/half moose), and ends up going into the Gnome kings chamber(which has lots of green foliage...it is OZ!!) but ends up being turned into a brooch and is resurrected by dorethy, but then dosn't want to leave incase she gets turned to stone.Quite possibly one of the crappest films made and as such,easily forgetable!!

Tripper?!? I was only five! Although I must have been on something, I think...Perhaps too many sherbert dip-dabs. Sadly, and thankyou for trying Guccichild, it's not Return to Oz - I take it that Tick Tock is the round golden robot, with, I seem to remember, a helmet like a British soldier's in the first world war (which is not meant to sound disgusting). I think the android, in this 'heaven', was wearing a suit. And he was definitely an android, and not a robot. Please help!
