Ebay isn't always cheaper
4 Answers
I wanted a Sky viewing card so immediately thought of ebay. They are selling on ebay for up to 10.00 more than the 20.00 I paid from a legitimate source Satellite and Digital Services ltd.(google found them for me)
Do people have more money than sense?or are we brainwashed into thinking we will pay less by using ebay?

E.G. If I wanted a new CD then I would go to Play.com because the postage is free rather than a dealer on Ebay who is charging 9 plus postage of 2
If it was a CD released a year ago I would go to Ebay because you would be much more likely to get a cheaper one, or a second hand one

Ebay hasn't been the cheapest option for quite some time now. It's the same story as Expedia. As the cost crunch starts to show clicks and mortar companies have to start playing ball and lowering prices thus the online pureplays no longer take the prize for overall best discounts.
But your average person takes awhile to catch up with pricing trends and so will continue to blissfully think every item bought on lastminute or ebay is a bargain. In reality I've often found Flightcentre, Argos, Amazon, Play, Woolworths and The Book People to be cheaper - just to name a few. You have to hunt around and you have to hunt around on ebay as the pricing is everywhere depending on who's selling what. But most people don't and so savvy sellers will continue to make a tidy profit which is their prerogative. It it up to the shopper to find the best deal
