fish tank question?
hi all
we have two fish (peter and jordan) and the tank they are in keeps getting orangy slime on the inside walls and on the filter. we have a largish tank so there is plenty of room a filter , and clean it every week we use the water stabiliser in it so have no clue can anyone help?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The filter may be too small for the size of the tank. Do you clean the sponge in the filter regulary? If you find you are having to clean the sponge more and more its time to change the sponge. Also check the fan part of the filter, if that gets gunged up it stops the filter working properly. Can your filter speed be turned up? it may just be its not filtering fast enough.

Having the light on for to long can cause slime or being in direct contact with the sun light can cause it aswell ,also you should alternate your 25% water change and gravel cleaning
every week is to much and you will end up with a nightrate problem and lose all your fish (happened to me ,lost alot of money )also when you do a water change make sure you add your water conditioner.
