Does anyone know how to dye brown hair (dyed by a salon) to blonde. I have recently had blonde highlights and brown lo-lights put in but the dark is much too dark and I wanted to lighten it up a bit without going back to a stylist as its already cost me an arm and a leg!!? Does anyone know of any home lightners to use that wont make the brown turn green!> Any suggestions much appreciated!!

If you're not satisfied with the colour the stylist gave you, the best thing for you to do would be to go back to the salon, and calmly and politely explain about it. Generally they're more than happy to set it right for you at no extra charge - and it's much better for your hair, since they know what they did to it in the first place! Tampering with salon colour with home dyes invariably ends in tears/orange and green hair.... be warned!

Thanks kalise25, although Ihave been back to the salon who have said that they can do a colour correction but it will cost me an additional 40, on top of the 80 they have already had out of me!!
Gangsters! I bet they'd take the food out of your mouth too (as my granny used to say...) Best of luck with the hair!
if color is fairly new give it some time (like 2 weeks) it should fade out on its own especialy if you don't use professional hair care products (ie.can only be bought in a saoln) if you are using quality shampoo and conditioner than do one or two washings with liquid tide or dawn ( to many washes with something this strong will dry out your hair than use a deep conditioning treatment and leave on at least 20 min. ALTERNAmakes a cupple of great ones! good luck p.s. i am a professional colorest.
here is a great remedy! Go buy John frieda's sheer blonde shampoo for platnium to champagne blonde hair.you can get it at any cvs or walmart. It has "highlight activators" that seriously lighten hair. No need to color. My hair was a dark blonde that looked kinda muddy, when it was usually a sunny blonde. I used the shampoo, and in a day it was lighter. Two weeks, and it looked as if I never colored it darker at all! It has like, lemon juice and stuff in it,so it really does work. It will fade the brown in no time!
