Was this ever held on a Friday? I can remember I always missed it because I was working - and didn't work on Saturday

It is always held on the last Sunday in the early afternoon. It has never been held on a Friday.

Ladies final used to be on Friday, with Men's on the Saturday.
Can't remember when it changed to Saturday/Sunday - late 70s perhaps?

They moved the Ladies' and Men's Finals to Saturday and Sunday respectively in 1982
