Scholarships for gifted and talented
3 Answers
My 13 year old daughter has been recognised by her grammar school as being gifted and talented. I got chatting with a cousin who tells me there is an exam that she can take and if she passes she may be entitled to a scholarship. Anyone aware of this?

Usually however it is mainly for specialised subjects such as music or languages.
The whole gifted and talented approach is actually fairly new to schools that now give responsibility to coordinators for gifted and talented students. Its great that these students are being recognised these days rather than having to put up with normal disruption in classrooms and never reaching their potential- it would be worth talking to the teacher who has this role in your childs school to determine exactly who and by what means someone is able to take a sponsorship in your area.
Hope this is a help!
