I've drowned my phone :-(

On Saturday night I accidently knocked my Nokia 7370 off the edge of the settee and into a glass of red wine!

I immediately took the back off, battery and sim out and dried it as best I could with kitchen roll.

On a few hours later, i could switch the phone on but it said 'Sim Registration Failed'. When I got up Sunday, it wouldn't even switch on and it's still the same now.

Is this fixable do you think or am I looking at getting a new phone?

I dropped my N70 into the washing up bowl on friday night. Like you I took the battery out (but left the sim in) and left it to dry above the fire. Tried it saturday morning but it switched itself off after a minute. Later in the day I got it working but the screen was slightly corrupted and had moisture around it. Today its back to 100%. Is the battery flat? Maybe just your sim is damaged. Do you know anybody on the same network as you. Borrow their sim and try it in your phone. Can u get a new sim?

Also dropped my first mobile down the toilet many years ago(!) left it to dry and it carried on working.

My dad is on the same network, I will try his phone and put his sim into mine. I will be gutted if I've killed it, I will have lost all phone numbers and everything if my sim is corrupt! I can get a new sim no problem from Orange but I love this phone!!
If there's no external signs of your phone getting dunked it might have a two year guarantee. Perhaps you could go back to the supplier and say it just packed up?
Also try your sim in his phone too... good luck CheekyChops
Following on from what agamad said - I spilt wine on my new phone a while back - it all worked apart from the screen after i dried it out. I rather cheekily took it back and told them it had packed in - and got a new one!! (Despite the obvious wine 'bubble' under the surface of the screen!!
