I've got a problem on my PC, when I log on normally it seems to run through it's boot up process ok I log onto windows and it starts loading the start up programs, then after a minute or two the PC just dies. If I reboot and use safe mode I get the blue screen of death and the only technical info it gives me is the STOP line but nothing after that, for anyone who hex the line reads as follows

STOP: 0x0000007B (0XF79C0528,0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

If I reboot use the Directory Services Restore Mode the PC runs ok and allows me to run any program I want for as long as I want

Just wondered if anybody might know what's causing the problem

Run check disk, open my computer, right click on drive c, select properties, tools and click check now, check disk will run when you next reboot.

The first part of the code relates to "incaccessible boot device" but is not necessarily hardware related.

Ran a chkdsk, no joy, still getting the same error
I'd suggest that you might want to repost this question on http://www.annoyances.org as the forums see this kind of trouble every day.

Thanks to everyone for there help. i think I finally managed to sort the problem. I ran msconfig and removed all the startup items and any non microsoft services and rebooted and fingers crossed the system seems to be stable. I know I didn't install any new software, I'm just trying to find if anyone else here did
