I was just wondering, when i'm on my period i generally dont bleed during the night or when i'm asleep. It tends to stop at about 9 or 10 in the evening and then start when i wake up, does anyone else have this? i presumed it was normal but i've mentioned it to some of my friends and they've said that the bleeding is much lighter but never stops completely at night. Very interesting i think!

Bit strange i must admit, i just have it lighter at night because your lying down i figured and with gravity and all that it wont be pulling down through your body that way will it but hey ho hum.

I have had it a couple of times where i don't have anything then get up and on it comes but i'm as stumped as you. Any ideas guys?

Without sounding too nasty, I always assumed that this was because when asleep you are laying down and what with the laws of gravty and all that..... Oh, I've just had my lunch...... If you're not a heavy bleeder anyway then it'd be pretty normal to 'stop' at night as the blood would only run 'down' your legs when you are upright.  I mean, if you slept stood up you'd probably still bleed.  Do you see what I mean?  I'm kind of rambling.

i'm not sure, that sounds plausable, but i'm sure that can't be the whole truth cuz if i lie down but im not asleep then it carries on as normal, and if e.g i wake up early and it starts but then i stay in bed it seems to still be as heavy as usual. And now i'm rambling!
I thought the same as CHOPS and natalie. When I am in bed it is definitely not as heavy, although the pains are just as bad!! But as for you stopping completely, it may just be that your body works slightly different..
Hey, Don't worry my period stops at night too but as the others say I think it's just because I'm lying down. I have quite light periods, you may want to check it out if you naturally have heavy periods. But if not then we're either both normal or both abnormal - I hope it's the former! x x

Mine seems to stay the same wether I'm in bed or not.

I find it's actually the opposite and that Im heavier at night?

The only time it seems to stop is when I go in the shower or the bath and seems to stop an hour after which I find strange!

I wouldn't worry too much about this as all women are different, and I wouldn't say its abnormal, some women have heavier periods than other's.

Men should just wish themselves lucky, god forbid if they had to go through this every month, they would think they were dying and ring for an ambulance asap!!

I tend not to aswell - I just thought it was an average thing
I think mine is heavier at night too.  The stomach cramps always wake me up.
Mine's always practically non existant at night as well, and it's only actually started once during the night as well come to think of it.

Rainbow Brite... Hey - i remember those!!!

I am the same... so don't worry - from the looks of it - we all think that its gravity!!! ;-)

We're all normal...supposedly.... so it's all good.....!!

PS Mully -  I sooo agree!!

no i flood at night if anything xxx
