I was a barmaid in St. Andrew's during my student days. I remember many students drinking pangalactic gargleblasters (a cocktail based on the drink of the same name in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). This drink had virtually every known spirit in it plus very colourful ingredients and it seemed to have smoke coming out of it too. It wasn't so cheap but one glass was enough for the world to be psychodelic. Another favourite was Malibu and pineapple. There were also the usuals beer, black and tans, snakebites etc
Creamola foam. The powdered crystals which you added to a glass of water and watched it fizz up in your glass. Available in raspberry , orange and lemon. It appealed to all generations because kids loved mixing up their own drink , a lot of adults used it as a mixer for their vodka and many swore by it as a hangover cure or a remedy for heartburn (probably because of the bicarbonate of soda which it contained) Mmmmmmmm , Creamola Foam. Yum yum !
