does anyone know if you can buy something like femfresh but for men ? sounds strange but i care for a dissabled man and he has alot of discharge under his forskin, there is no infection just thought that someone might know of some way to clean more effective than soap... thanks
Are you finding that soap is not effective?
A fragrance free soap is probably your best bet - less chance of irritation to (ahem) sensitive areas. Femfresh can (and does) irritate even though it is meant for intimate areas.
Izzie q not sure if its the soap making it worse he said he is willing to try something else but it is difficult dont know what try have tried just water and it seems better as he doesnt sit in the bath im not sure if it is really good enough to use a wet flannel.
You could try some wipes that people with colostomies etc use. You could send off for a few samples to try first. The most important thing is do DRY the area very well. Try this company & ask for OSTAGEL skin cleanser.
I have no real advice, but just wanted to say i really admire people who do this kind of work along with those who care for the elderly. I could not do it.
just call out his doctor, and let him have a look,i am a senior care worker myself and with the clients permission,i too have had to bath male clients privates.its our job,and a good one that us caring people do.
a good brand of soap,and a flannel
