Dalziel and Pascoe - Urgent!!
12 Answers
In the episode 'Walls of Silence' a passage was read from a book, something about 'think of me' and looking at stars. I need to find what it is urgently, my niece loved it, sadly she died last week and her Mum wanted this read at her funeral, but no-one can remember it. Tried the bbc, no luck. Can anyone help us, please? Posted this on Film & TV, someone suggested posting on here, too. Thankyou.

This one is called All Is Well by Henry Scott Holland and has the words ...
"Laugh as we always laughed, at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play smile and think of me always,..."
Maybe that is the one you heard on the programme?
I tried the D&P website but they were useless.
Try this. I typed look at me in google and I got this http://www.songs-lyrics.com/lyrics_page11.html. scroll down to Look at me. hope it helps
Me again. Would you recognise it if you heard it? There's this lovely poem that's used a lot..
In those quiet moments in the still of the night
Remember to rejoice and celebrate life
Do not think of me gone and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on the grain
I am the gentle autumn's rain
When you awaken in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in flight
I am the soft stars that shine
You will hear my gentle voice
and remember to rejoice
Never give up your fight
and remember always
to Celebrate Life.
Could it be this?
When I'm gone, don't cry for me.
Please smile each time you think of me.
I'm not beneath the ground you see.
Each breeze that blows is part of me.
I'm in the clouds so soft and white.
My eyes will shine in stars at night.
Don't think of me as gone for good.
I'll be around. You knew I would.
I'm watching everything you do.
I AM still sharing life with you.
No need to look both far and near.
Just listen close, I am right here.
I'm here to listen everyday
To all the things you want to say.
I've seen you cry so many tears.
Be glad we had so many years.
I'll wait until you come for me.
Our lives will be like they used to be.
We'll both be whole and free of pain,
My life with you will be back again.
Please take the love you gave to me
And give to more that are just like me.
So when I'm gone, don't cry for me.
But smile each time you think of me.

This one is similar to the one mentioned by noddy:
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
looks like RevShirls hit the nail on the head in the Film & Tv section. Could it be this:-
Away From Home
by Mandy Doerr
The day is done
The night comes in
Down goes the sun
Wind chimes of tin
Ring soft and clear
Gently in the wind
Think of me, dear
Looking at stars
Wanting you here
This night should be ours
Yet I am alone
To count the hours
My pain has grown
Without your touch
Night chills my bones
This is too much
My soul can't bear
Loneliness' clutch
And yet I dare
To live this life
Of days unshared
Perhaps tonight
I'm not alone
But joined by starlight
To my heart's own
Wishful desires
Of you and home

I really hope that this helps. There are some beautiful and similar sounding things here...I will, however, keep looking for you.
