we are due to take our autistic son on holiday soon please can you tell me if we would be able to pack in the suitcases some of his foods as he has a very restricted diet. we are going to niece (france)
Shouldn't think you will have a problem taking food in.Only problem may be in the type of foods eg perishables that might deteriorate. Are you flying or driving ?
If flying then any perishables could be put in a cool bag and put in your hold luggage, which is something I do when going to Spain
Apart from occasional temporary restrictions (for things like BSE), it's OK to import and export all foods across the EU. So there will be no problems with French customs.
As far as airlines are concerned, the only restrictions relate to liquids carried in cabin baggage. There are no restrictions on carrying foods in the hold.
