are youth groups at churchs really serious about getting people to join them in their groups i just talked to somebody on friday about the possible of joining a youth group she told me a little bit about the group that she runs she said she would let me know was she serious when she said that she would get back in touch with me about the youth group?

Hi Ultraman, I'm not involved in any church group or other, but perhaps this is just down to human error. We all have bizzy lives, with many things to think about. I'm sure this was just a genuine human oversight or she my have took your number down incorrectly (there are many different explanations), get in touch with the group again; I'm sure they will welcome you with open arms.
