Hi Denise, This site says that twisted willow - Salix matsudana `Tortuosa' grows to 25' wide. I would plant it at least 15' from a structure or wall. http://www.mnpower.com/treebook/fact99.html This site has the most information of any site I know about root problems, leaf litter, etc., but is currently off the air due to hurricane Frances. Give it a day or two to be back. http://hort.ifas.ufl.edu/trees/index.htm Newt
They can grow up to 35 to 40 feet in Britain (It's the mild winters and cool damp summers Newt) I can't find anything specific about the twisted willow but I'd play safe and plant 20 to 25 feet away
Drewhound, Thanks! :-) Newt
