My car was damaged by a garage when it went in for a free service as the car was damaged last july whist having warrenty work carried out on it.
I would like to try and find out how i stand legally.

I assume that you are in disputer with the garage over this, are they denying responsibility?
If you reported it to your insurance at the time you will have more chance of getting a result in your favour.
If the garage is any good and values its reputation, I would expect them to rectify the situation at their own expense, and provide you with alternative transport.

I used a garage that was a member of the Good Garage Scheme, they didn't fit some parts that I had requested to be replaced, due to lack of communication between staff.

They replaced the parts subsequently, without charging me any labour.

This is what I would expect of any garage, when they are at fault.
