private seller or dealer?
please can some1 help me..i recently purchased a 2nd hand car,i asked if it had been involved in an accident and i was told no,on checking the v5 b4 i signed it there was no mention whatsoever about accident damage..on receiving the v5 back from dvla it clearly states this car was accident damaged..i know i wouldnt have leg 2 stand on if this was a private seller,but this is where is gets suspicious..i contacted prev owner and to no avail..then i received a letter from him yesterday stating he is not a car dealer(i never mentioned this 2 him)when i went 2 view car it was a lady who i delt with as she said he was away working,he stated in his letter he gave her 200 commission through the sale of the car..they are also selling other cars,which to me makes him a trader..he also said it clearly stated on v5 it was accident damaged when i signed 4 it..i know for a fact it was NOT..i have witnesses to this also.the car was also advertised with new exhaust and working air con..no new exhaust and the air con doesnt seem 2 work..where do i stand legally with this
