Just starting to study this .First buy was 12x50 --field5.5 96m/1000m which are quite good can see the moon craters.But now I would like a telescope not too expensive say �100-�150.Could some one please put me on the right track as I have not got a clue when I go shop.Thanks for any help.

you would be far better sticking with the binos at present.,
until you can afford a lot more money for a telescope.

For �100-150 you will be very disappointed by what you can get.

look to spend upwards of �500 to see a real improvement in viewing quality, sorry!

Find your local club
Go to one of their meetings
Forget looking through the club's scopes - they have a long waiting list and you will only get a short time ie 5 minutes.
Befriend a member who lives nearby and ask if he/she will let you have a look throught their scope.
Most amateurs love to show people in this way as their reward is the appreciation of the person they are showing the heavens to.
I have a small scope and everyone who looks through it makes it that much cheaper to me in terms of initial cost to people who have looked through it. If you get my drift.
Anyway look up and enjoy, it will make you feel really small.

You might want to check EBAY. I just entered telescope and got 1400 items. As you would anywhere else, do your homework first. I've had good luck there for golf clubs.

Thanks Edlee I did have a look on Ebay but as I am not quite sure what to go for thought better leave it in the meantime till I understand what I am looking for.

Good quality astronomical telescopes are very expensive, The telescope mount will cost a similar price to the actual telescope. I would recommend a 6 inch (15cm) reflecting telescope which uses a 6inch diameter mirror rather than a 6inch diameter lens. A 4 inch refracting telescope which uses a 4inch lens, would be also be a good first telescope. Under high magnification you would get a good view of the planets and be able to see the cloud belts of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn. At these magnifications a driven mount is very useful as it counters the rotation of the Earth. Under low magnification you would get excellent views of nebulae, star clusters and galaxies.
E-bay is a good place to look.
