Does anyone have a rouhg idea how much it would cost to have a new tv aerial put on my chimney with the cable going in by the window of one of the bedrooms. The house is a standard 2 storey semi.

Thanks

I paid a couple of hudred pounds a year or two back.

For that I got a mast, fixings and high gain ariel with a amplifier on the mast and high performance cable with the cable going in through a window ( no trunking inside needed)

Since then the working at height legislation has come in. I don't know if they'll insist on having scaffolding up for the job or whether they work under one of the exemptions.

Last time I needed scaffolding it was about 200 as well.

Probably varies by area, I'm in a rural area sort of Milton Keynes way
Hi we paid almost 200 last December for similar to Jake.we live in cheshire.
I paid about 180 a few years ago to attach it to the chimney via a 6' pole. It also included an aerial for my FM radio. He said the price was on a sliding scale depending on how many fins were on the tv aerial which jumped up massively the more you have. I questioned this as the cost of the aerial should be relatively cheap. He agreed, was under orders from his boss!
By the way it was money well spent - my picture is now pin sharp and I can even get regional TV even though I'm 10 miles out of the official range and behind a hill.

Not that regional TV is worth watching!
The price of a decent aerial from Maplin is about 30 (one with lots of fins on the back). Add 10 for the pole and another 5 for the cable and you can see where most of the money is going - call-out and do it charges. Long live DIY.
Whatever happened to Rod Hull?
hi
had same as jake the peg got installed last week at a cost of 220 no scaffolding just ladders.

Thanks everyone. I think I am going to try running an internal cable from my existing socket with a signal booster if necessary as that will only cost about 30 tops.
