dont know what section to post this in............
After reading a post in a different section on here someone kindly answered someone by saying here is my e-mail address, email me..... A reply came back saying "one of the rules on Answerbank is that we don't give out personal e-mail addresses. " Surly if someone is willing to give someone else their e-mail address it is up to them..Or is it not a rule just a suggestion so to stop you getting spam.
When the site was owned by the Daily Mail, I always assumed that as the guardians of the nation's morality, it was a child safety thing (though if they had decent software they could add email-type addresses to the block list). Anyway, I guess the new owners are wanting to keep that rule, possibly to protect themselves.
You imagine what kind of worm-can that'll could be opened if e-mail addys were allowed ("I only put my e-mail address on the AB and now I'm being stalked, your honour").
