Estate Agents
1 Answers
Hi there, following from yeseraday i wrote a letter to the estate agent and informed them of the 4 weeks notice.
However we had a viewing booked at 6pm last night, so my partner and i waited outside in the car, (just to see who would view the house) we waited until 6.20pm, the estate agent went in at 6pm, at 6.05 he came out and drove off, no one except the estate agent went into the house. I called at 6.30pm to ask how the viewing went and they said that the guy had gone straight home and they would call me back in the morning. I called back and asked how it went the first guy said it went ok but they are looking at other properties, so i asked to speak to the EA who had actually done the viewing, he said the first people had cancelled, but that was ok becuse they had another couple come in who liked it, but they were looking at other properties-Ha ha ha!!!! caught him out. I told him that he was a liar and to have my keys ready and the board men have the board removed asap. He didn't even defend himself, all he said was he didn't know what to say!! am ok to go in there and take the keys and tell him that the contact ends today as he has broken his side of the contract??? and is there anyone i can complain to them about.

Inform them that a copy of the letter will be sent to the RICS. (Make sure the estate agent is a member,Should be on your contract. ).
The RICS (Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors) regulate estate agents and there is a National association of Estate Agents, but they only really deal with codes of practise. Maybe RICS should be your first port of call. This may help,
