Joshua Kadison is the singer & songwriter and it doesn't appear in Elton's discography:

Joshua Kadison wrote the song "Jessie" whilst dealing with his break-up with actress Sarah Jessica Parker in the early 90s.

The oft repeated erroneous link to Elton John is attributable to the song's sound and style being very reminiscent of compositions by Elton John/Bernie Taupin (a fact picked out in many reviews at the time).

The song is also often falsely attributed to the late John Denver.
