Reinstalling an application

When i log in it comes up failed to locate component, reinstall application avkernel.d11 how do i find out what this is and how to reinstall it.Everything was alright until i downloaded my new norton anti virus.

It means your Norton Anti virus didn't install properly. You need to re-install it - or better still (as Norton AV is a synonym for dog poo) uninstall it and install something decent and free, like AVG or Avast.

Thanks for advice but have already paid for norton will try reinstalling anyway see what happens.
