Help something is happily munching its way around my garden eating pretty much everything in sight (and as its a small garden is really noticeable) its eating leaves and petals from flowers. I've put snail / slug stuff down and have checked under leafs incase anything is lurkiing but nothing. I have noticed a few black ants in my garden... would they cause such distruction?

Hi cheekystar
It is unlikly that the black ants in your garden are the culprit. They tend to prefer fruits.
It may well be slugs and snails.
Or, do you have rabbits around your garden.
Hope you find out what the problem is.
Have a careful look around for dull very dark brown/almost black beatles which seem to have nobbles on their backs. They are Vine Weevils, and beastly little creatures they are too. They munch on leaves, but worse still are the bugs, which develop in soil and eat the roots of plants, thus destroying them completely.

Earwigs also eat flowers so look out for them too, but my first bet would be the Vine Weevils. Here's a link which might help you:
