Send to...not available

I have installed a new hard drive, and WindowsXP has been installed. On right clicking to send document or folder to desktop etc. Send to does not appear. Help please

Just click on the 2 arrows and extend the menu

Thanks Yvonne BUT on right clicking onto a document or file, there are no items in the menu with 2arrows and indeed at that point, the menu is fully extended.

I don't understand the right clicking The drop down menu is from FILE on the top bar (followed by EDIT VIEW INSERT ) left click on FILE and the 2 arrows are at the bottom of the menu

Use the Send To list

Send To options include some useful tools, send file to a floppy, to an email recipient, to the Desktop as a shortcut, etc but you can easily add to those options. You might want to have a variety of different destination folders, popular applications, such as Notepad, Word and an image editor,

Start by creating a shortcut to the thing you want to add � by by holding down right mouse button while you drag it to your desktop. XP users can release it if the plus sign is showing; that creates a shortcut. Users of 98 and Me release it and select Create Shortcut(s) Here. Click the new icon, press F2 name the shortcut. Or right-click and use the existing Send To Desktop option.

Clever ways with Send To

There�s a neat trick that provides a quicker way to add program destinations to the Send To menu: you add a shortcut to the Send To folder itself.
To do it, locate the Send To folder and drag it on to the desktop to create a shortcut. Then cut and paste the shortcut into the Send To folder as before.
Now, when you want to add a program destination to the Send To folder, right-click the program in Windows Explorer and choose Send To, Shortcut to Send To. That will put a new shortcut into the Send To menu.

If your Send To menu starts to get unwieldy, just group the contents logically into subfolders. Use Explorer to go to the SendTo menu and create subfolders as normal. The subfolders will appear in the Send To list, with their contents in a submenu

Yvonne and v551din. Whether or not I right click on the file/doc or highlight the file/doc and then use the File menu, neither Send or Send To appears in the menu choices.

After saying that when I want to send a page from the internet i,e answer bank, Send does appear on clicking FILE.

SO, the problem seems to be with just documents and files.
