I have been charged with careless driving although i was not read my rights before hand. The said offence allegedly took place mid jan. 2007 and it is now 3rd of
june.Apparently an older couple reported me to their local
police station for the alledged offence.they said i cut them up and nearly knocked someone of their pushbike.
I have absolutely no recolection of the said offence and
neither has my work collegue who was in the van with me
on that date.Where do i stand with this as the police hav told me it will go to court and i will recieve points on my licence.Iam no angel but i am sure i did not commit
this offence as has been told to me.HELP!

Get a solicitor, plead not guilty when you go to court. Then hearing dates will be set. You will get copies of the evidence against you. If it is only this couples word against you and your work collegue any good solicitor should be able to clear you... if its identification he should quote Turnbull to the magistrates....this is about the reliability of identification
See solicitor before filling anything out. What has happened is the police have a 6mth thing where they have to send the legal stuff out buy. thats why you have just got it. Like MIT said get a good sol. Example just this very moment Mr Roach has called me to say the court has just dropped all charges against him in a driving conviction. Due to lack of evidence. We fought the law & WE won. Good look.... ( Oh & he was no angle either).
