I hope this doesn't seem too petty a question, but I'm fuming at the moment...
My husband left me in January 2005. At the time, we both had Tesco Clubcards in our own names. Whilst visiting the kids this Saturday, he admitted, that, when he left, he'd had my clubcard account changed to his new address. So, any points I've earned over the last two and a half years, have been sent in vouchers to his new house. The account wasn't a joint one, it was in my name. Can they do this? I've phoned them to ask what's happened and they say that I'll have to put it in writing as it raises Data Protection issues, but I can't understand why, when they seemed happy enough to change the account address over without my agreement in writing. Any ideas?

I don't know how this has happened, but write to Tesco. There is nothing else you can do.
This is from their terms and conditions:
The Clubcard card is not transferable, and can only be used by the person whose signature is on the card. Clubcard Key Fobs may be used by any memb er of the main Clubcard holder's immediate family who is resident at the same address, as registered for the main Clubcard holder.
The Tesco Clubcard scheme is only for personal and consumer use. Tesco Clubcard Points and Vouchers cannot be transferred, sold or in any way traded. They may only be pooled by members with the same postal address.
So they will be able to check how many clubcard points have been sent to his address from your card. Ask for those points to be re-credited to you and sent to your proper address.

No, I'm ashamed to say that I didn't notice that I'd not had a statement in two and a half years, but then with two young kids, a full-time job and half a tonne of post coming through the door every day, I (think), I can be excused!
The accounts were definitely in sole names, we each had our own clubcard number. I'm just writing to Tesco now asking them how this has happened and if they'll consider reimbursing me with any points earned on my card since January 2005. They might not, but it's worth a try.

The only way i can see he has managed to change the address is if he did it online, i manage my clubcard online and when i moved changed my details via the internet therefore only needed a password, if u didnt have your clubcard set up via the internet find out if it has been done that way ring their helpline to delete it or change the password, they should also be able to give you points back
HI, sorry to hear your predicament. It may be that unused points can be transferred but you may have to take civil action to reclaim the benefit of the vouchers. I would advise you to see a citizens advice bureau about this matter as they may also advise you about action against Tesco if they refuse to help. Best of luck.
