An animal is digging up my impatience flowers, roots and all. It looks like they lay on top of them and by looking at the unclear footprints I would guess it is pretty big. Does anyone know what kind of animal this is and how I can stop it?

Hi I've only just found this brill site hence a late reply...it could be a fox, they dig to find worms etc. On the other hand it could be the neighbourhood moggie!! Its difficult to stop either of them but I found chicken wire pegged down between the plants useful or any prunings that are prickly (rose, holly etc).
