Can I grow Cherry laurels in a well drained soil but shaded garden with a bright indirect light?

They should be fine. The shade can tend to make tham a little leggy but it's nothing you can't control with some pruning
Or in the case of cherry laurel, lots and lots of pruning... It's a very vigorous plant -- will grow very big unless heavily controlled. Your soil and situation sounds ideal for it -- and you'll soon have lots more shade...
