I have a HP and the PS book that my mum and dad bought for me quite a while ago. I think it's an early edition because it doesn't have Dumbledore on the back, it has whom I think is Nicholas Flamel (brown hair, holding a book). Does anyone else have such a copy and can you tell me if it is an early edition and how much it's worth? Any help much appreciated. Meg.

I would say that your best bet is to ask a professional bookseller. I have got some very good first edition books from Abe Books online, and they really are very helpful if you have any enquiries about a book you have. http://www.abebooks.co.uk/ Hope this helps. xxxx
Dumbledore has a brown beard in my book too, dont know why, the illustrator hasnt apparently read the book. You should be able to tell what edition you have, its written on the page after the title page (somewhere under the ISBN number) there will be a countdown of a few numbers you should take the highest number, eg 23 22 21 will be 23rd edition, 10 9 8 will be an 10th edition etc. First editions will just have a 1. Good luck firsts of HP&PS are worth quite a bit now.
i think that i dosn't really matter what the picture on the back is, whether it is nicholas flamel or dumbledore. my edition has got nicholas flamel on and i'm not sure that is very much older than the others
