my wife is being bullied at work by another employee of the company, my wife is from thailand and thought that this is the norm. trouble is she has only been working there for 8 months and i think that this might go against her. this bully is a backstabber, all nice and sweet in front of bosses who think that she is wonderful but as soon as they are out of sight she picks on my wife, she has told me that she wants to quit but i feel this is so unfair. it is only a low paid cleaning job, 5.35 an hour, but i feel that i must do something. any help or advice will be much appreciated. thankyou.

On a previous question (March) you state that although yor wife is made to work unsociable long hours etc, she does enjoy her job. Could you be making matters worse? I say this because it appears that you have a problem with her job and if all you do is moan about the job she is eventually going to feel inadequate, put upon or whatever it is. There are plenty of other cleaning jobs all paying minimum wage. If she doesn't like it or if you don't like it, she should leave. It is obviously causing problems in your relationship. Your wife must be under a lot of pressure both at work and at home trying to keep you and her work colleagues happy. If, for financial reasons, your wife HAS to work and she cannot find another job, you must stop putting pressure on her by telling her that she is not being treated right etc. She has two choices, she works there or she doesn't work there. I wish her well it can't be easy.
I have to agree with auzzie</>, so far in the last few months you have compained about the long hours, the low pay and now the other staff. There are other cleaning jobs out there for less hours (probably the same wages though), I suggest she seriously thinks about looking for another if you or she is not happy with the present job.

If she really is being bullied and has no witnesses and no evidence, I don't really see what other choice she has unfortunately.
