2 xbox 360's in as many days...

First one played games with lack pixels all over the screen. Second one plays ok, but crashes every 10 mins or so. Got fed up of going bacl and forth to HMV to get an exchange (even though the manager was very helpful). So, I have contacted Microsoft who are arranging for it to be collected and repaired.

Anyone else had any similar problems??

Can't say I've heard of this, but here's my advice all the same:
Refund every penny, go to www.ebuyer.com or an equivalent reputable online PC component retailer, and for the same money buy a PC gaming rig that will be at least and anything beyond 2-3 times more powerful than the 360. Look at www.tomshardware.com and www.sharkyextreme.com for excellent beginners PC gaming guides, trust me once you see the true superiority of the PC as a gaming platform you will never look back! graphics do not make a game.crysis is simply far cry instincts on acid.crysis will only look decent on high end pcs that will cost 4-5 times more than a 360.chances are it will be released on 360 anyway.

Our family's 360 started to carve rings into all the discs, so we phoned up microsoft etc only to find we were 1 day out of our warranty! Still, microsoft said they would collect and repair, so its all good, even though they havent collected it now and we've been waiting a month.

Had to send my 360 back to Microsoft. For some reason games stopped loading after a few months of use.

They just sent me back a new one or reconditioned, problem solved worked perfect since.

hmv have ok'd for a 3rd exchange. so far so good on the 3rd one

I just traded my 360 for a wii with 2 controllers and 7 games. I had it since launch date and knew about 50 people on live who had to send their 360 back. I got rid of it before the rings of death got me.
