European import and new wheels

I have just agreed to buy a VW Golf (2003) privately on the proviso that a couple of issues will not cause me any problems.

Fistly, the car was originally purchased from Carcraft by the current owners with 8 miles on the clock. They were informed that it was actually a European import and subsequently had difficulty gaining the warranty from VW UK (although this was granted).

Secondly, the wheels have been changed and are not VW wheels.

I do not have any concerns about the honesty of the seller, simply want to understand if either of these points could cause me problems if I went ahead with the purchase.

Any help would be appreciated.

be also aware that because it is a import,when you sell it the price will be lower as well,if we take a import in part exchange will will give 10/15 % less then if it was a uk registered car,most dealers will do the same,so it would be better to sell privately when that time comes around,as for the wheels,if they look nice and compliment the car,then there are no worries there.
