I've got an 18ct white gold ring & recently bought our wedding bands. Mine is the same, 18ct white gold but it seems to be a different colour. Does anyone know why this is? Is it normal or is there something I can do to make them the same? Thanks!!!
How old is the first ring? my rings are 18ct white gold too..and my engagement ring is slightly more yellow than my wedding ring.
I was told by the jeweller that white gold needs regular re-plating to restore the 'whiteness'. Maybe you can take yours into a jeweller and ask their advice :o)
White gold is an alloy, usually of gold, nickel, copper and zinc. The colour is grey rather than white so it is usually plated with the metal Rhodium which is a brilliant white. Perhaps your jewellery needs to be replated.
The engagement ring is about 8 months old and the wedding band I got a few days ago. The newest one is a very grey looking colour whilst my engagement ring is a white/silvery colour if that helps at all.
Thanks for the replies, I will go back to the jewellers i think
