driving without due care and attention

I have rently been summonsed to appear in court later this month on the above charge.At the time i was questioned december 06 i was not charged or any motoring offence was mentioned.The first i heard about myself been charged was 3 days ago ?Can this possible be right are you not ment to be charged within a certain time limit?

yes,the time limit is a YEAR,so its well within the time allowed

The time limit, as defined by Section 127 of the Magistrate's Court Act 1980, for the laying of summary charges, is 6 months:

The Crown Prosecution Service always has a massive backlog of cases and it's not at all unusual for charges to be laid right at the end of the 6 month period.
