Mephisto Win

I've been away for a few weeks , and was really pleased on my return to see one of those Sunday Times slips saying ' Winner Mephisto' . Even better I have managed to complete a couple of EVs on my own - something I thought was never going to happen.
Six months ago , when I joined this site , I had never heard of these crosswords , and would not have had the faintest idea how to attempt them.
So, to all the many kind and helpful ABers who have educated me, thank you - especially for making it so much fun !

Yes, very well done. The EV series is probably just about the hardest to regularly solve at the moment.

slaney, thats marvellous .. I must admit that the EV puzzles appear to me to be a step too far, so I am full of admiration for you. I must admit to being tempted though, but never seem to find sufficient time ... one day maybe?? (S)
