hi when i click on my computer icon i just get a light searching for the drives but not finding them. got new hdd but its still the same please help thanks

is the icon a shortcut? try right clicking on your desktop click properties, desktop, customize desktop and make sure the my computer icon is selected.

If this was working ok before, then I would imagine that you have picked up some sort of worm in your pc that is causing it to slow down. Alternatively if you are running something like Norton System works, then that might cause the system to slow down, because one of teh optyions (i can't remember which one) indexes avery change to your hard drive.
